Savannah Guthrie is rallying behind Today costar Sheinelle Jones after the host had to step away from the talk show.

Sheinelle, 46, revealed that she is dealing with a “family health matter” in a post on her Instagram page on Wednesday, January 15. The NBC personality has taken a step back from Today to deal with it, with her colleagues sharing kind words in support.

Savannah, 53, commented on Sheinelle’s post, writing, “We love you so. not the same without you. we will see you soon.” She also shared a message for Sheinelle during Wednesday’s episode of Today while sitting next to Craig Melvin in the show’s early morning hours.

"Many of you have been inquiring about Sheinelle and expressing how much you miss her, and we feel the same way," Savannah shared during the episode.

Fans also left comments for Sheinelle in support after she made the announcement. The news came after she missed multiple episodes of Today within a span of a few weeks.

"We miss you dearly and love you so much. You bring such a vibrant energy to the Today Show. I'm sending you prayers and warm hugs to help you through this challenging time. Just remember, you are genuinely missed," a commenter shared on Sheinelle’s Instagram post.

"Your absence has not gone unnoticed, and you are dearly missed. We hope that the love and prayers from your supporters provide strength to your family during this difficult time. You are in everyone's thoughts," another individual commented.

"You've been greatly missed, and as your fans, we've been concerned about you. It's comforting to know you're exactly where you need to be," a third user remarked. "I’m keeping you and your family in my thoughts during this tough period. We appreciate you taking the time to keep us informed."

Prior to clarifying the reason for her Today disappearance, Sheinelle had not posted on her Instagram feed since December 16. At the time, she shared a photo posing with her eldest son, Kayin, and President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden at the White House holiday press party, which took place on Sunday, December 15.

"This unforgettable moment with my eldest son Kayin, @potus, and @drbiden went beyond mere politics. I felt a surge of emotion as the president warmly praised his outfit and then shared these heartfelt words with him, looking him in the eyes – ‘Son, I want to share something truly important: always take care of your mother,’” she shared in her post. “Kayin responded, ‘I will. Yes sir.’ – It was as if time stood still for a brief moment … allowing us to fully absorb it. I felt a few tears well up as we left that beautifully adorned room. It was a night we will cherish forever."

In addition to Kayin, 15, Sheinelle is also a mom to twins Clara and Uche, whom she shares with husband Uche Ojeh. The mom of three has been a host on Today’s third hour for several years, joining the NBC News team in 2014. Today correspondent Jill Martin is currently filling in for her on the show, as fans wait to see when Sheinelle will be back.
